This week I’ve been feeling really festive, I adore reading Christmas gift guides and searching for perfect gifts for all my friends and family. My desk already has a designated spot for my pile of gift guides, so this weeks #SundayNails had to have a special sparkle. I was also very lucky this week to meet the fabulous teams at SpaRitual and Leighton Denny both of whom feature in this weeks post.
Despite loving nail varnishes since I was old enough to cover my hands in PVA glue and glitter, I have never tried any SpaRitual products so I have been very excited to try this festive glitter nail lacquer. For those of you like me who are new to this brand they are unique in that they are the only vegan, paraben-free luxury spa range of hand, nail and feet product and treatments. The shade used in this post is called Spellbound, it’s a beautifully festive red infused with tiny glitter particles.
Layering this shade adds amazing depth to allow the glitter to really sparkle, which was exactly the effect I was hoping to achieve. With snowy weather set to descend across the UK this week I wanted to have a warm red to banish cold thoughts in the darker nights and chilly mornings.
I do feel that you need a good top coat for this lacquer as the glitter texture can give it a slightly uneven finish without it. I used one of my favourites Seche Vite and I was very pleased with the finished effect. I found that this shade does require two coats (as always recommended) to really ensure full glitter depth and coverage of colour.
I might not have my Christmas Tree up just yet but with only 37 days to go I’m certainly one sparkle closer to one of the best days of the year.
To top that, Christmas isn’t Christmas without a little Miracle. And this post also brings one in the form of Leighton Denny’s Miracle Mist. A speed drying spray to give touch dry nails in 60 seconds. I have always painted my nails on a Sunday and I am always so upset if I ruin them before they are dry, by undressing, smudging on bed sheets etc… So I was intrigued to see how well this worked. Now I have to say that Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat is AMAZING. It does dry faster than any top coat I have ever used but with the addition of Leighton Denny Miracle Mist I felt that the speed went super sonic. Simply by spraying the nails (approx 15 cm away) it is a great find. I was worried it might dull or impact on the shine but it didn’t affect it at all. Plus it also claims to condition cuticles too. I wouldn’t use this every time I paint as I do believe in allowing nails to dry properly but when speed and time is an issue this is most certainly a new go-to product.
