Now my celebrations for my birthday are midway, today I’m off on a spa break with my best friend for our annual joint birthday retreat… I am super excited to be off seeing the countryside… Well from a hot tub anyway!

So before I enter the mobile and technology free zone I couldn’t ignore talking about the Celebrity #SundayNails that adorned Sundays Golden Globes. Manicures can make an outfit, so one that hits the red carpet needs to complement the look and the paparazzi.

With a host of trends in sight our favourites were Helen Mirren’s nod to last years pink rinse hair with a pop of pink on her tips, creating a fabulous contrast next to her emerald outfit. Try Giorgio Armani Nail Lacquer in 505 to replicate this pretty pink.

Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts went classic with chic Rouge Noir hue manicures. Which remains the go to shade for an ultra elegant nail in our opinion. Look to Nails Inc Victoria, CHANEL Rouge Noir or Lancôme Midnight Rose to adorn your tips with this look.

Nude nails also stole the show with a twist, but the award for the best nail art has to be equally shared by Zooey Deschanel, with very cute daisy print over nude nails created by Tom Bachik and the gorgeous nude and silver moon manicure, which enhanced Kerry Washington’s Balenciaga gown perfectly and truly nailing baby bump red carpet glamour. For these mani’s we recommend using a dotting nail tool to create daisy nail art, over either a base coat or a nude French manicure shade. To create your moon look, it is best to create it in 2 stages, a base shade such as OPI Don’t Pretzel My Buttons and masking the area with nail tape then painting your accent, if you want sparkle Nails Inc Kingly Street is great. If not a foil effect will look amazing.

Going full scale Golden Globe Nail-tastic is of course the svelte Kelly Osbourne. Going for gold with award nail art, which in her words to E entertainment were ‘sick’ they certainly glittered in true golden globe style. To achieve a simple version of this look our go to would be OPI Honey Ryder Liquid Sand.

There were even statement naked nude nails. The glamorous of which has to have been on Olivia Wilde, whose emerald sequin gown looked incredible.

Which golden globe look wins for you? Will you be trying any of these looks yourself?
