So this weekend has been a roller coaster. Starting way on high as I partied into Saturday at the O2 dancing along to Beyoncé. An incredible night with a fabulous friend. I felt young, free and alive. My wonderful weekend continued with some house hunting (for the boy) in sunny surrey. This is one of my favourite things to do, as I like most people love nosing around other peoples homes. As a west Londoner it was a fun education into all things surrey too.
But alas today it’s Sunday. One of my favourite days for it brings #SundayNails, but today it has brought the evil that is Sunday blues too. Having worked 12 days in a row last week this weekend has seemed to fly past faster than superman can.
So today’s shade of choice had to mirror my feelings so I reached for my latest addiction Vinylux Weekly Polish in Blue Rapture. These polishes are the embodiment of this blog. The idea that you can find a varnish that will get you all the way to Saturday night. Flawless.
Of course the people who brought us shellac surely must have cracked this? Upon application the polish is a lot thinner than I had anticipated. Two coats are very necessary and a more precise mani is required. This polish tends to ridge so a smooth application is really required here. The formulation means that you apply straight to the nail without a Base-coat but I do find this quite strange. Sealed with the Weekly Top Coat, this is not as great as Seche Vite in my opinion but it has certainly given the colour a pro shine. The polish needs no UV curing like shellac it does however get stronger each and every day as it gets exposed to natural daylight and the UV rays from the sun.
