Sunshine, happy faces and the scent of summer, seems to be all around upon my arrival from holiday and it’s making being back at work a lot easier to handle. Albeit a few days in… Perhaps the rose tinted glasses are yet to fade.

So this week I had to embrace summer and with that in mind I had to reach for a hot shade. I found a shade I purchased a while ago when the hint of summer was just a mere daydream.

Jessica Purple Burst, I have only ever used one other Jessica product before and was really really impressed. So this one had big shoes to fill. I’m happy to say it held up.

The application, smooth and fluid. Be cautious on the amount of polish you have on the brush. A little goes a long way, don’t be tempted to overload – you will just end up with lots of tidying up to do! Keep it light and in the lines, be smooth with your strokes and you will have a great professional looking finish.

Two coats is imperative with this shade. Whilst not translucent it is not 100% opaque on one coat. Like applying red, hot holiday shades are important to finish well, bright colours attract eyes and with that imperfections so take your time and it will pay dividends.

I may be preaching to the converted but with rich colours that are red based it is essential you apply a base coat first. You want to minimise nail staining as much as possible. I used Deborah Lippmann Rehydrating Base Coat as I’m a big fan of her products.

I was delighted to be reunited with my Seche Vite Top Coat after using a very very bubbly Sally Hansen Double Duty on holiday. Now this could have purely been from the heat but I’m now back to polish perfection and couldn’t be happier.

I have already had 5 compliments on this shade so if you’re searching for a hot holiday nail. Google this one ASAP.

For my #SundayNails, it’s office, gym and daydreaming of being back in the sunshine. But looking down at bright hues on my tips certainly keeps me smiling.
