Blue skies… The dream for every day in summer. Sadly this weekend has been one of sunshine and showers. So I need a burst of sky blue on my tips to keep me feeling in keeping with the season.
With the weather not being kind, it has been a weekend of mainly in door activities. So after some shopping yesterday I spotted this light sky blue shade in poundland none the less. I have always spent a lot of money on nail polishes but thought I would try a cheap alternative for once. I also couldn’t resist taking two others, which dependant on the success of this polish may yet adorn #SundayNails tips.
I have never heard of Jess nail varnish and after a google it appears that it is exclusive to the drug store. The savvy shoppers choice and at £1 for 9ml is quite possibly unbelievable that it can be profitable for them to execute.
The application was better than I anticipated. It is very very fluid and does require you to take a lot more caution. Two coats are essential, on some nails three is required. It is a very thin polish so a thick application of Seche Vite Dry Fast was needed to seal them.
The hue, aptly named Ozone, reminds me a lot of Chanel Coco Blue. Just a tad lighter and of course £17 cheaper. This little impulse purchase won’t deter me from my proper nail splurges! I wish!
It is rather ironic that today’s #SundayNails is brought to you with such a thrifty hue, as I have been window shopping in Hermes. Yes, really i have taken you from pound land to couture. In order to splurge at one end, one must be thrifty in others, and I have lusted after Hermes scarves for as long as I can remember. My love of scarves is almost as incredible as my love of nail products.
I just need to make a final decision on which Hermes scarf I will go for. Choices choices… I want them all.
We’d love to hear about your latest splurge and save shopping stories! So drop them into the comments section.
