A new era of nail care has arrived, from BB Creme from Orly to Superfood for nails. Yes caring and nourishment are now hot buzz words in the nail industry. Now you can adorn your nails in the latest hue with the knowledge you are also giving your tips a well earned treatment.
Step forward Nails Inc Nail Kale. The creative genius of Thea Green, whom has revolutionised our use of nail polish and manicures in the UK over the last fifteen years.

The superfood kale, is now supercharging NailsInc Nail Kale range of polishes. Promising to stimulate keratin production, hydrate and nourish as it is absorbed by the nail.
The science bit…
Our nails are fundamentally made of keratin and the powerful anti-oxidant benefits of kale help to maximise the function and production of keratin, as it protects the vitamins, resulting in nail growth and strength. Hurrah!

That sounds pretty out there for something you paint on your nails but I’m all for giving it a go. It is if you like the skincare equivalent of the nail world.

Out of the new range of six nail polishes (a superfood base coat, an illuminator and four colours), I reached for the superfood base coat and my name sake Nails Inc Victoria Nail Kale. I finished the look off with Seche Vite Dry Fast.

The superfood base coat is a reassuring light green (kale) colour and paints on effortlessly. Literally one stroke using the thick brush coats the nail bed perfectly.

It has been awhile since I had used Victoria, the rouge noir hue from Nails Inc and was surprised at how streaky it was on application. The new thick one sweep brush does make painting easier but the formula is not very opaque at all. I did only paint two coats however this morning on reflection I think three would have been better as there is some lighter patches, which is slightly disappointing. I do really like the colour and feel it is befitting the season as the summer seems to be turning down it’s rays and we start thinking about cosy sweaters and cuddling under blankets.

I think DaisyDolly, #SundayNails contributing blogger made the right choice of Superfood Nail Kale Base coat and Nails Inc Gel Polish. You can read about her experience here.
