The world is waking from its winter sleep. With buds and blooms of daffodils, tulips and cherry blossoms. It’s one of my favourite times of the year, everyone suddenly is happier. Friendlier and wants to be outside.
With the coming of spring, comes the coming of spring tips. Lighter, brighter, gorgeous hues of polish.
Today the boy and I sat admiring our jungle of a garden. Since buying the house in the depths of winter, the garden has not been touched. Despite the jungle we have had daffodils and buds appearing. Nature can surprise you. Sitting with an Elderflower G&T for me and naturally a beer for him, we plot and plan it’s much needed transformation.
For this weeks nails, I wanted to go for a nice bright shade to complement the start of spring. I reached for OPI Pamplona Purple, a sunny shade of purple, tinged with pink.
The application was good for OPI. I sometimes find them a little too fluid but this one was a good consistency. Two coats gave a really nice polished look. I also took the time to try a new top coat. Dior Top Coat, a super shiny professional look top coat. This did dry quickly, however I noticed a couple of micro bubbles forming. I think I am too hard wired to Seche Vite. But it certainly is a good back up product. I doubt I will ever be truly happy with a rival top coat.
However, the resultant look is shiny, bright and certainly spring ready. I’m reaching for my two favourite spring fragrances to complete the look. Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede and CHANEL Les Exclusif Eau de Cologne, both of these scents evoke spring blooms for me.
