I have been off comm for a little while and that is not cool. I apologise. I abandoned you all. I did think about you everyday. I promise. Ok. Not everyday. But I did worry you would disappear.
I’m back. With the biggest news. I’m engaged. Yes, really! Totally sparkling engaged. With a ring and everything.
So does that get me off the hook? Hmmm maybe.
Considering the momentous occasion I have been thinking long and hard about my choice of nail decoration. What can complement or even compliment such a moment?
My choice had to be couture. I also wanted bling. A nod to the sparkle of diamond.
So I delved into my library of varnish. Choosing Dior Porcelaine. This spring light duck egg blue is every bit old French opulence. I adorned my ring fingers with Spa Rituals Illumination a beautifully glittery silver. As I have mentioned so many times I struggle with glitter polish, I seriously have a love hate relationship with it. I used Glitter Off Base Coat to aid the removal. But with the engagement excitement I can deal with a bit of a struggle. The sparkle is worth it. In keeping with the couture theme I added Dior Top Coat, a lushciously shiny finish to my engagement manicure.
I intended merely to find a ring style I liked so the boy could buy it himself (with clear guidance) however after trying some out. I found ‘the one’ the ring clearly said ‘I’m yours’ ‘this is it’. I know it sounds bloody crazy and silly and down right something made up from a girly rom com. But I kid you not it happened. I realised that I really wanted it to be this ring.
After finally asking my dads permission. The boy went and bought me my ring. Sadly a two and a half week wait ensued. I have very thin fingers. Piano fingers I’m told, yet I can not play. A mere J 1/2. Little.
Yesterday. My wait was over and our engagement was re kindled all over again. This time even more real. Wednesday is date night and this was no ordinary date night. It was date night with diamond sparkle. The boy has never looked so proud as when he presented me with the little box, opening to reveal the glory of diamonds. There it was my ring.
The wedding plans are underway and I’m super excited. Save the Dates at the printers and it’s all go go go.
This weekend I am reviewing the Chanel Spring Nail collection. I have them already but of course needed engagement nails first! Stay tuned. You can read my build up to this collection here
