From its couture debut in 1994 on the runway of the CHANEL Autumn Winter show, to rocking it on Uma Thurman’s nails in Kill Bill. This stellar shade continues to rock.
Whether you know it as Vamp, in the USA, or Rouge Noir, in Europe. The almost black red is a cult hue, copied the world over and despite the vastness of shades on the market this one continues to top the bill.
In celebration of its 20th year, CHANEL offers Rouge Noir Absolument. A Christmas collection that pays homage to this iconic shade, from eyes, lips and of course nails. For a festive touch, there is Lame Rouge Noir Top Coat a gold glitter top coat. More like gold leaf than your regular glitter effect.
With dark shades it’s tricky to sometimes not stay in the lines and so here’s my little hack if you do have a bit of a boo boo. Don’t try and tidy it up while your nails are still wet, it will most like make matters worse. Wait. Then once dry, wash your hands while the hands are still wet, slightly run with a nail (fingernail, not metal nail) this should flake away the error leaving you with a perfect manicure.
Hope this helps you! Do share your love of this shade!
